Red Flag Warning until 08:00PM Sunday

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning...which is in effect from 10 AM to 8 PM MDT Sunday. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch is in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening.

* AREA AND TIMING...All areas below snowpack except the North Central Mountains this afternoon and early evening. Strengthening ridgetop winds tonight combined with low humidities will result in localized critical conditions continuing during the overnight. Critical conditions rapidly become widespread Sunday morning and persist through early Sunday evening for all areas except the North Central Mountains below snowpack. Critical conditions return on Monday.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest to west 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 40 to 45 mph this afternoon. Southwest to west 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 to 50 mph over ridgetops tonight and areawide on Sunday. Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around 50 mph Monday.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Ranging from about 4 to 8 percent this afternoon, about 6 to 12 percent Sunday and 7 to 13 percent Monday. Widespread 10 to 15 consecutive hours of single digit humidities today and 5 to 10 consecutive hours on Sunday focused over the Middle Rio Grande Valley, Northeast and East Central Plains.

* IMPACTS....Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHWEST PLATEAU ... NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS ... NORTHEAST PLAINS ... NORTHWEST HIGHLANDS ... MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY ... SANDIA MANZANO AND GALLINAS MOUNTAINS ... EAST CENTRAL PLAINS ... WEST CENTRAL HIGHLANDS
