Scaffolding Theft Leads Deputies to Discover Additional Stolen Items; One Suspect Arrested and Another Sought

LOCATION: 900 Block of Fern Drive. Crestline, Ca. 92325
SUSPECT(S): Alejandro Cristobal, 34-year-old Crestline resident
Nicholas Hampe, 23-year-old Cedarpines Park resident
SUMMARY: On April 4, 2022, deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Twin Peaks Station, responded to a report of a theft from a residence in the 900 block of Toll House Pass in Crestline. The investigation revealed Alejandro Cristobal and Nicholas Hampe, stole scaffolding from the residence. Deputies received information that the stolen property was at a residence in the 900 Block of Fern Drive in Crestline. A search warrant was served at the residence and investigators located the stolen scaffolding at the residence along with ten chainsaws. Some of the chainsaws along with other property were found to be stolen from additional locations.
On April 12, 2022, Hampe turned himself at the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station where he was arrested. Hampe was booked at Central Detention Center, in lieu of $25,000 bail. Cristobal is still outstanding.
The Twin Peaks Sheriff’s station is asking anyone who recently had their chainsaw(s) stolen to contact the station to identify them.
