The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Southeastern Pulaski County in central Missouri... Phelps County in east central Missouri... Dent County in south central Missouri... Northern Texas County in south central Missouri... Southeastern Laclede County in southwestern Missouri... Northeastern Wright County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 700 PM CDT.

* At 136 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Rolla, Fort Leonard Wood, Salem, St. Robert, St. James, Licking, Doolittle and Newburg. This includes the following highways... Interstate 44 between mile markers 162 and 169...and near mile marker 171...and near mile marker 173...and between mile markers 180 and 199. This includes the following low water crossings... Smoky Hollow at Highway J, Boone Creek at Boone Creek Road, Meramec River at Spur Road, Gladden Creek at County Road 624 and Dry Fork Creek at County Road 2430.
