Deputies Arrest Bell Gardens Man, Identified as the Suspect in Multiple Southern California Retail Thefts

SUSPECT(S): Vessi Diaz, 27-year-old resident of Bell Gardens
VICTIM(S): Costco
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, April 12, 2022, deputies responded to Costco located in the city of Chino Hills, regarding a theft. Costco Loss Prevention reported a male Hispanic entered the Costco, selected two Sonos brand speakers valued at over $950.00, and left the store in a white sedan without paying.
Vessi Diaz was identified as the suspect. A warrant was authored for Diaz's arrest. Diaz was located in a nearby city and arrested. Detectives learned Diaz was responsible for over 20 retail thefts throughout Southern California.
Diaz was transported to the West Valley Detention Center and booked for Grand Theft.
