Subject: Fatal Crash in Cass County MI
 Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on April 14, 2022 at approximately 0634am, Deputies were dispatched to a two-car head on fatal car crash on M 60 Hwy just east of Gards Prairie road in Penn Township, Cass County Michigan.  Cassopolis resident, 67 year-old Richard Affriseo, and 19 year-old Ahsan Hart, also from Cassopolis, were involved in a head on collision.  Hart was airlifted to South Bend Memorial to be treated for his injuries and Affriseo succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the incident. 
Assisting the Cass County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Michigan State Police, Penn Fire Dept, Cassopolis Fire Dept, and Pride Care Ambulance.  Hart and Affriseo were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.  It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, and the crash remands under investigation at this time.
