Planned Road Closures in May for Special Events
Get ready for special events in May! The Niles Canyon Stroll and Roll will take place on Sunday, May 1 and will involve massive road closures in the Niles Canyon area. The Niles Car Show will take place on Sunday, May 15 in the Niles District. The Burger and Brew Fest will take place on Saturday, May 21 in the Downtown Event Center Plaza and nearby area.
Please note the following road closures and plan accordingly.
A stretch of Niles Canyon Road will be closed on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from approximately 4:00 a.m. and is expected to reopen by 4:00 p.m. The road is closed to vehicular traffic, and will remain open to bicyclists and pedestrians.
- Fremont Side: Road will be closed at Old Canyon Road and Niles Canyon Road
- Sunol Side: Road will be closed at Main Street and Niles Canyon Road, and at Main Street and the Westbound On Ramp to SR-84
- Palomares: Road will be closed on Niles Canyon Road and Palmores Road
- Free Parking at Fremont Side:
- Fremont BART - 2000 Bart Way, Fremont, CA 94536
- Quarry Lakes (limited parking) - 2100 Isherwood Way, Fremont, CA 94536
- Free Parking at Sunol Side:
- SFPUC Lot - 11600 Pleasanton Sunol Road, Sunol, CA 94586
- Shuttles to and from the event are available only on the Niles/Fremont side at Fremont BART and Quarry Lakes. Shuttles will run every 15 min starting from 7:30 a.m.

The following roads will be closed on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from approximately 6:00 a.m. and are expected to reopen by 5:00 p.m.
- Niles Blvd - between "J" Street and "G" Street
- "H" Street - between Second Street and Niles Blvd
- "I" Street - between Second Street and Niles Blvd
- Iron Horse Lane - between "H" and "I" Streets
- City parking lots next to Niles Plaza – Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. to Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
The following road closure will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from approximately 3:00 a.m. and end by 11:30 p.m.
- Capitol Ave between State Street and Liberty Street
During all events, always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activities. Backpacks and bags are subject to search. If you see suspicious behavior or situations, do not confront the individuals involved.
