Berkeley Police Requesting Public Assistance.

On April 14th around 1 pm, a woman was walking on Colusa Ave. between Visalia Ave. and Thousand Oaks Blvd. when she was approached from behind by a male suspect.  The suspect threatened the women with a knife and sexually assaulted her on the 500 block of Colusa Ave., in Berkeley.  Berkeley Police Officers responded to the area and were unable to locate the suspect.  The suspect was described as a black male adult, about 30-40 years old, 5’07” to 5’10” with short, curly gray and black colored hair.  The suspect was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and a blue surgical mask.  The suspect left the area on foot in an unknown direction.
 
BPD Detectives are requesting residents in the area check their video surveillance or dash cams for any information that may be related to this incident.
