Felony OWI 4th Offense 
On Monday, April 18, 2022, at approximately 5:27pm, a Middleton Police Officer made contact with a vehicle being operated by 44-year-old Bret Carlson.
During the contact, the officer smelled the odor of intoxicants on Carlson and observed signs of impairment. The officer also located open intoxicants in the vehicle. Carlson admitted to drinking prior to contact with the officer. Carlson refused to perform field sobriety tests and a blood test was conducted.
Carlson was booked into the Dane County Jail for Operating A Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated – 4th Offense.
