OPD NEEDS ASSISTANCE SOLVING THE DEATH OF JOSE RAMOS
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating the death of Jose Eduardo Colon Ramos who was located unresponsive on February 7, 2022, just after 10:00 PM, at the intersection of 23rd Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Medical personnel transported Ramos to a local hospital where he underwent medical treatment. Tragically, Ramos never regained consciousness and was pronounced deceased on February 18, 2022.
The events leading to Ramos’ injuries and loss of consciousness remain unclear. In the months preceding his death, Ramos moved between various West Oakland shelters. OPD and the Ramos Family are seeking information regarding Ramos’ whereabouts, activities, and contacts that could assist with the investigation.
