Narrative:
On April 6, 2022, investigators arrested a local Thousand Oaks resident for two commercial burglaries, petty theft, and possession of personal identifying information.

On February 3, 2022, the owner of the Boney Mountain Tavern reported a burglary.  An unknown suspect forced entry into the business and attempted to steal money from a locked cabinet.  The suspect was unsuccessful due to the alarm sounding.  Detectives reviewed video surveillance from multiple businesses and followed the suspect’s movements.  Detectives learned the suspect had been wearing a disguise and removed articles of clothing as he fled the scene on foot to his parked vehicle.

The suspect was identified as Eliseo Valdez Martinez.  On April 6, 2022, the Thousand Oaks Police Property Crimes Unit served a search warrant on Valdez Martinez’s home and vehicle.  Valdez Martinez was arrested and evidence was found that linked him to the burglary.

During the search, detectives located multiple credit cards and driver’s licenses not in the suspect’s name.  Detectives were able to establish Valdez Martinez was responsible for another commercial burglary, two thefts from vehicles and possession of personal identifying information.

Valdez Martinez was booked at the Main Jail for the listed charges and posted $35,000 bail.  His arraignments are set for April 21, 2022 and June 7, 2022.
