INCIDENT: Penal Code 290.012(a), Sex Offender Registrant Violation
LOCATION: Colorado River Station Jail, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Jon Bantleon, 62-years-old, Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Monday, April 18, 2022, at about 10:36 a.m., deputies assigned to the Colorado River / Needles Station responded to a report of a vehicle collision in the area of Cibola Street and D Street in the city of Needles. Through investigation, deputies determined Jon Bantleon intentionally operated his vehicle in a manner consistent with deadly force against another motorist. Bantleon was arrested and booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
It was later discovered Bantleon was not in compliance with annually required sex offender registration requirements, as defined in Penal Code section 290.012(a). Bantleon was re-booked into the Colorado River Station jail for Penal Code Section 290.012(a) and remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
