12:39 AM: Officers investigated multiple thefts of catalytic converters.
7:37 PM: Community Service Officer Lau investigated a burglary to a vehicle that occurred in the 3000 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Loss was a backpack.
7:43 PM: Community Service Officer Lau investigated a theft of a vehicle in the 5000 block of Newpark Mall Rd.
8:42 PM: Officer Garcia responded to investigate a report of a vehicle collision. The driver in one of the involved vehicles fled prior to officer arrival.

Saturday, April 2, 2022
12:23 AM: While attempting a U-turn, Officer Quinonez was almost struck by a vehicle in the area of Birch St and Robertson Ave. Officer Kapu on-viewed the incident and initiated a traffic enforcement stop but the vehicle failed to yield and continued to commit additional traffic violations. A pursuit was initiated but was ultimately terminated when the driver drove the wrong way down a street disregarding the safety for others. Incident is being investigated by Officer Kapu.
12:38 AM: Officer Kapu responded to a report of a vehicle collision into a fire hydrant and traffic light that had just occurred in the area of Thornton Ave and Newark Blvd. Due to his proximity in the area, Officer Kapu arrived on scene within 30 seconds of the call and on-viewed a subject fleeing on foot. The subject unsuccessfully attempted to jump a sound-wall. Officer Kapu made contact and arrested the subject, a 37-year-old male out of Newark, for DUI and hit& run property damage. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
10:02 PM: Officer Swadener investigated a burglary to a vehicle that occurred in the 5000 block of Mowry Ave. Loss was sports equipment.
11:34 AM: Officer Garcia responded to investigate a report of an open rear door to a building in the 5000 block of Newpark Plaza. Upon arrival, Officer Garcia made contact and arrested a 28-year-old male for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

12:51 AM: Officer Swadener conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Central Ave and Cherry St. Officer Swadener made contact and arrested a 42-year-old female out of Union City for possession of a controlled substance. She was cited and released.
8:30 AM: Officer Riddles investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 35000 block of Dumbarton Ct. Loss was tools.
1:11 PM: Officer Jackman investigated a theft from an unlocked vehicle in the 2000 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Loss was a passport and paperwork.
1:53 PM: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 3000 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Officers arrived and made contact with a 24-year-old female subject out of Castro Valley that had been caught attempting to steal a vehicle by the victim vehicle owner. Upon further investigation, the subject was also found to be in possession of the stolen property from the previous case. The subject was ultimately arrested for taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, theft of personal property from a vehicle, and probation violation. She was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
4:29 PM: Officer Jackman investigated the theft of a catalytic converter in the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd.  
 
Monday, April 4, 2022
11:34 AM: Community Service Officer Parks investigated the theft of a vehicle in the 39000 block of Cedar Blvd that occurred overnight.
1:26 PM: Officer Hunter investigated a theft in the 5000 block of Thornton Ave that occurred earlier in the morning. Loss was power tools.
1:38 PM: Officer Johnson made contact with a 49-year-old female in the area of Cedar Blvd and Cedar Ct. She was arrested for driving with a license suspended for DUI, restricted driver operating a vehicle without an interlock device, driving at an unsafe speed, and an outstanding warrant. She was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
9:15 PM: Officers investigated two auto burglaries that had just occurred in the 5000 block of Mowry Ave. Loss was laptops and outdoor equipment respectively.

6:06 AM: Community Service Officer Parks investigated a theft of a catalytic converter that occurred overnight in the 38000 block of Cherry St.
10:19 PM: Officers responded to a report of a battery in the 5000 block of Cedar Ct. Officer Riddles made contact and arrested a 36-year-old male and a 35-year-old female for multiple outstanding warrants, giving false identification to a police officer, parole violation, and possession of drug paraphernalia respectively. Both were booked at Santa Rita Jail.

12:21 AM: Officer Sanchez made contact and arrested a 35-year-old female in the area of Cedar Blvd and South Magazine St for possession of drug paraphernalia. She was cited and released.
10:23 AM: Officer responded to a report of vandalism in the 39000 block of Eureka Dr. Upon arrival, officers made contact and arrested a 36-year-old female for vandalism and giving false identification to a police officer. She was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
11:16 AM: Officer Johnson investigated two thefts of catalytic converters in the 36000 block of Newark Blvd and 36000 block of Colbert St.

12:56 AM: Officer Jackman investigated a theft in the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Loss was $6,295 worth of merchandise.
9:59 AM: While investigating another call for service, officers made contact and arrested a 39-year-old male out of Union City in the 5000 block of Mowry Ave for possession of a stolen vehicle. He was booked at Sanita Rita Jail.
8:58 AM: Officer Soto investigated a report of fictitious currency in the 34000 block of Newark Blvd.
12:40 PM: Officer McCuin investigated a report of fictitious currency in the 5000 block of Jarvis Ave.

7:01 AM: Officer McCuin investigated an auto burglary in the 5000 block of Stevenson Blvd.
11:45 AM Hours: Officer Hernandez investigated a commercial burglary in the 35000 block of Newark Blvd. No loss reported at this time.
12:13 PM Hours: Officer Soto was investigated an auto burglary in the area of Manzanita Street and Narcissus Way. Loss was mail.

7:54 PM: Officer Garcia conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the 6000 block of Mowry Ave. Officer Garcia made contact and arrested a 26-year-old male out of Hayward for a false registration tab. He was cited and released. The vehicle was towed and the license plates were seized. 
9:55 PM: Officer Garcia responded to the 35000 block of Lido Blvd and made contact and arrested a 35-year-old male out of Michigan for being too inebriated to care for himself or others. He was booked at Sanita Rita Jail.

12:05 AM: Officer Riddles and Officer Hernandez conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Thornton Ave and Spruce St. Officers made contact and arrested a 29-year-old male out of Newark for DUI. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
7:15 AM: Officers investigated a theft of a vehicle in the 36000 block of Cedar Blvd. On 4/11/22 the vehicle was recovered in Contra Costa County.
7:15 AM: Officers investigated a report of a stolen vehicle in the 36000 block of Ruschin Dr.
