Thursday, April 21, 2022 around 11:25 PM, Fairfield Police Dispatch received calls of a shooting in the area of Laurel Drive and Manzanita Avenue.
As officers arrived in the area, a vehicle was fleeing from the scene. Officers stopped the vehicle and located a 56-year-old, Fairfield resident with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Officers located a crime scene in the 300 block of Manzanita Avenue and the Investigations Division responded and took over the incident.
Around 2:00 AM, Friday, April 22, 2022 the 56-year-old male sadly succumb to his injuries while at the hospital.
Based on the preliminary investigation, an argument occurred prior to the shooting.
