On April 1st, 2022, three suspects committed a residential burglary in the unincorporated community of Oak Park. The suspect in custody was identified as Alexis Damayanti Provoste Aranguiz. After the arrest of Aranguiz, deputies with the Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) continued the investigation utilizing law enforcement resources and were able to identify and locate the two outstanding suspects at a hostel in the 100 block of West 54th Street in Los Angeles. On April 20th, 2022, SEU and DEU deputies observed the two suspects leave the hostel on foot and walk to a nearby grocery store. As the two outstanding suspects exited the store, deputies attempted to make contact but they both fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, both outstanding suspects were taken into custody. The suspects were identified as (S) Oscar Andres Salazar Perez and (S) Franco Antonio Vasquez Soto. Perez and Soto Perez were both determined to be Chilean Nationals and part of the South American Theft Group. Aranguiz is currently in the custody of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office for conspiracy to commit residential burglary. Oscar Andres Salazar Perez and Franco Antonio Vasquez Soto were both arrested for conspiracy to commit residential burglary. Perez and Soto were booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for the violations, and each had their bail set at $250,000. |
