Old Fort, N.C. (April 23, 2022) – Fire officials and emergency personnel responded to the scene of a forest fire that started on Cozy Cove Drive on Saturday afternoon. Crews are working to control the flames, and will work through the evening to extinguish the blaze. According to officials on scene no structures are threatened at this time. Fire personnel are ensuring that homes in the area are protected. Work will continue today with over 80 fire personnel on scene constructing containment lines. The public is asked to avoid the area to ensure that crews can travel safely to contain the fire. Additional information will be provided as available.
