Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Blue Point last night.
 
Joseph Coleman was walking with a bicycle on Montauk Highway, near Atlantic Avenue, when he was struck by a westbound flatbed truck at approximately 9:25 p.m.
 
Coleman, 60, of Bayport, was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the flatbed truck, Larry Guyette, 43, of Mastic, was not injured.
 
The flatbed truck was inspected at the scene by officers from the Motor Carrier Safety Section.
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
