DETAILS: Officers were dispatched to Clarksville Road and Blue Jay Way on the report of a head-on collision with possible injuries. Upon patrols arrival there was a white 2011 Ford Econoline van and a black 2015 Toyota Prius with heavy front end damage to both vehicles. It was later determined that the Ford had been traveling south on Clarksville Road in the area of Blue Jay Way (Princeton Terrace) when it crossed the center line, entered the northbound lane and impacted head-on with a Toyota traveling north. D1 reported minor complaints of pain and was transported to Helene Fuld (Trenton). D2 complained of pain to her right arm and pain to her entire left side. In the passenger side rear seat of the Toyota was a (3) year old girl who was restrained by a forward facing car seat. The child had visible restraint burns to her left collar bone and was unable to move her right arm. Both occupants of the Toyota were transported to Capital Health Fuld (Trenton).
The investigation on scene determined that D1 failed to control his vehicle in traffic and turned into the on-coming lanes of travel to possibly avoid rear-ending traffic in front of him. D1 was found at fault for the crash for failing to maintain his lane of travel.
The investigation is ongoing. Clarksville Road was closed between Quakerbridge Road and Meadow Road for approximately 2.5 Hours. If anyone has any pertinent information, please contact Traffic Officer McQuade at [email protected], Traffic Sgt. Loretucci at [email protected], (609) 799-1222, or our Anonymous Tipline at (609) 799-0452.
