DETAILS: Patrol Units were detailed to the Target store for a shoplifter who was being detained by Asset Protection. Investigation determined that Meghan Donato had placed a Ninja Air Fryer valued at $169.99 into her shopping cart, did not pay for it, and attempted to leave the store. When officers asked Donato to identify herself, she provided a false name and date of birth. Donato was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Patrol Units were detailed to Wegmans for a shoplifting in progress. Prior to officers arriving, the shoplifter had left the store with stolen merchandise in his possession. Asset Protection followed the shoplifter and guided officers to his location in front of Dicks Sporting Goods where he was taken into custody by Ptl. M. Fattibene. Investigation determined that Joseph Leaver had selected $182.74 worth of items which he put into reusable shopping bags, and left the store without paying. Leaver was also found to have active warrants for his arrest from West Windsor, Lawrence, and Hamilton. Leaver was processed at WWPD Headquarters and then turned over to the Lawrence Police Department for their warrant.

DETAILS: Patrol Units responded to a motor vehicle crash on Village Rd. West, approximately 300 feet west of Regent Blvd. Officers arrived to find a black Dodge pickup truck that had driven onto the center median and struck a tree. The pickup was heavily damaged and disabled in the roadway, but there were no occupant(s) around. A search was immediately started to locate any vehicle occupant(s). The driver, Cody Ashford, was eventually located and determined to be DWI. Ashford provided accounts of events that led up to the crash that were later determined to be false. Ashford has future dates pending with the West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Officers were detailed to the Target store for an employee who was being detained for theft. Investigation found that Brandon Mobley had selected seven items, brought them to the self-checkout where he scanned and paid for two drinks, but did not scan the other items which had a total value of $109.95. Additionally, it was found through an internal store investigation that Mobley had stolen from the store an additional twenty times since February 23rd. Mobley was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with Mercer County Superior Court.

REPORTING OFFICER: K9 Officer F. Zicha & K9 Hodge

 

DETAILS: K9 Officer Zicha observed a blue Toyota SUV being operated in a suspicious manner in the parking lots in and around the MarketFair mall, Hyatt Place hotel, and nearby restaurants. After some more time circling the parking lots, the SUV stopped in front of the Hyatt Place and picked up a female. After observing the SUV driving erratically, K9 Officer Zicha initiated a car stop. During the stop and with the assistance of narcotics detecting K9 Hodge, Keopetoon was found to be in possession of various types of narcotics that were prepackaged for sale/distribution. He was also in possession of a shank (aka. improvised knife). Two females were inside the SUV, and further investigation with the assistance of the West Windsor Detective Bureau, led officers and detectives to conclude that Keopetoon was actively involved in promoting prostitution. Keopetoon was processed at WWPD Headquarters and then committed to the Mercer County Correction Center.

DETAILS: Ptl. Silcox and Sgt. Magistro were detailed to the Target store for a shoplifter who was being detained by Asset Protection. Investigation found that Maria Vazquez-Martinez took a bar code tag off of a $1 item when she first entered the store. She then selected $142.90 worth of merchandise, went to the self-checkout, and surreptitiously used the $1 bar code to scan all her items. Vazquez-Martinez was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with the West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Ptl. Connell and Ptl. Cherko were detailed to a shoplifting at the Home Depot. They arrived to find Kileen Jackson being detained by store Asset Protection. Investigation found that Jackson had placed a backpack blower valued at $229.00 into a shopping cart and pushed it out of the store without paying for it. Jackson was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS: Ptl. Mahon was detailed to the Target store for the theft of a wallet. Initial investigation found that the victim had her wallet stolen while she was shopping at Wegmans, and her credit cards were used at Target to purchase gift cards. Further investigation by Det. Jany determined the following; The three accused subjects had stalked the victim while she was shopping at Wegmans. Her purse was inside her cart and they followed her around, watching her, and waiting for an opportunity. That opportunity came while at the deli department of the store while the victim viewed the many offerings. While her attention was drawn away from her cart, Ramirez-Gonzalez reached into the victim’s purse and stole her wallet. All three subjects then left the Wegmans and went to the Target store where gift cards were purchased. Later that day, the trio was arrested for shoplifting at a Target store in Brick Township and were found to be in possession of the gift cards purchased using the victim’s credit card. Complaints were served on all three of the accused who were in custody at the Ocean County Jail
