On Saturday, April 23, 2022 at approximately 12:20 A.M., Montcalm County Deputies responded to an address in the 300 block of West Lake Street in Crystal for a report of a pickup truck crashing into a home.
The investigation revealed that a 2008 GMC Sierra, driven by a 23-year-old Crystal woman, went off the road after failing to negotiate the curve at North Shore Drive and West Lake Street. After the GMC left the roadway, it struck the southwest corner of a nearby home. The driver was arrested for suspicion of Operating While Intoxicated and lodged in the County Jail.
Seatbelts were believed to have been worn by the driver and her passenger, a 37-year-old Crystal man. Additionally, there were two occupants in the home when the crash occurred. No one in the vehicle nor home were injured. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services, the Crystal Township Fire Department, and Montcalm Central Dispatch.
