The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito April 15th to April 18, 2022.

April 15th
License plate theft – 3100 block of Yosemite Ave. 
An officer reports that an unknown suspect stole the license plate from the victim’s vehicle earlier that morning.
 
April 16th
Grand theft – 2300 block of Tamalpais Ave.
At 11 am, an unknown suspect stole the catalytic converter from the victim’s vehicle. 

Grand theft – Ross, 11545 San Pablo Ave. 
An officer reports that two suspects entered the business, selected 6 expensive handbags, and exited without paying. 

Attempt Grand Theft – 11700 block of San Pablo Avenue;
At 7:37 pm an officer was sent to the report that someone had attempted to steal the catalytic converter from the victim’s vehicle sometime during the previous 24 hours. 

Attempted Robbery – 11545 San Pablo Avenue (Ross);
At 8:58 pm officers were sent to the report that an attempted Robbery had just occurred.  The store reported that the suspect came inside and went to a cash register and demanded the clerk give them the money inside of it.  The employees backed away from the cash register and the suspect walked out and fled the scene. 

Petty Theft – 3160 Carlson Blvd. (76 gas station);
At 9:36 pm an officer was sent to the report that a suspect had come behind the counter while the clerk was doing another task and took a large quantity of Lottery scratcher tickets.  This crime was discovered when the employee was watching the security footage from earlier, so the suspect was gone when police arrived.    
 
April 17th
 
April 18th
Burglary – 10636 San Pablo Avenue (24 Hour Fitness);
At 6:02 pm an officer was sent to the report that someone had cut a lock off of a locker in the female locker room and stole the contents within.
