The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito April 19th to April 21, 2022.

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.

April 19th
Grand Theft – 7400 block of Curry Ave:
At 7:33 AM, an officer reports a catalytic converter was stolen from a 2008 Toyota Prius sometime overnight.

Petty Theft – 6000 block of Avila St:
At 3:18 PM, a CSO reports the rear license plate was stolen from the victim vehicle sometime overnight.

Battery on School Property / Non-student on School Grounds  – 540 Ashbury Ave (El Cerrito High School):
At 4:13 PM, an officer reports the 17 year old female student victim argued with another 17 year old female student on Friday.  The suspect called a 20 year old female former student to come to campus today, and the pair jumped the victim in the girls’ bathroom during lunch.  The victim had a nose piercing ripped out during the fight and had bruising to her face.

Vehicle Theft – 2000 block of Key Blvd:
At 5:30 PM, a CSO reports a black 2017 Ford Fusion was stolen sometime overnight.
 
April 20th
Grand Theft – 1400 block of Navellier St:
At 7:08 AM, an officer reports the catalytic converter was stolen from a Toyota Tundra at 11:30 PM on 4/19.  The incident was captured on video and the suspect was a white male, 40’s, 5’ 10”, 170, shoulder length hair.

Use of Identifying Information – 10944 San Pablo Ave:
At 9:51 AM, an officer reports the victim’s credit cards, which were in the below listed vehicle when it was stolen, were used in Oakland.

Vehicle Theft – 10944 San Pablo Ave:
At 2:26 PM, an officer reports a 2010 Toyota Prius was stolen from the parking lot between 9:00 PM on 4/19 and 9:00 AM on 4/20. 

Petty Theft – 10944 San Pablo Ave:
At 2:30 PM, an officer reports approximately $2 in change was stolen from inside the victim’s Kia Optima sometime overnight.
 
April 21st  
Grand Theft – 1900 block of Junction Ave:
At 8:21 AM, an officer reports the catalytic converter was stolen from a silver Toyota Prius sometime overnight.
