Two Men Arrested on Multiple Firearm Charges after Fleeing from Deputies Conducting a Traffic Stop

INCIDENT: Felony Evading, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed, Possession of Ammunition by a Prohibited Person, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine
LOCATION: Pawnee Road and Ramona Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): 1) Andrew Jacob Hernandez, a 23-year-old resident of Victorville
2) Carlos Daniel Galceran, a 28-year-old resident of Fontana
SUMMARY: On Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 2:15 a.m., Deputy Alarcon, with the Apple Valley Police Department, attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a gray Chrysler Sebring for failing to stop at the posted stop sign, at the intersection of Pawnee Road and Ramona Road. The driver failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.
The driver, later identified as convicted felon Andrew Hernandez, drove recklessly through residential areas, failed to stop at posted stop signs, and drove on the wrong side of the road. The pursuit ended when Hernandez crashed into a brick wall on Ramona Circle, disabling his vehicle. Hernandez fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. The passenger was later identified as Carlos Galceran.
During a search of the vehicle, an un-serialized loaded handgun, rifle scope, un-serialized AR-style rifle, marijuana, suspected methamphetamine, ammunition, and firearm manufacturing equipment were confiscated.
Hernandez was booked at the High Desert Detention Center for Felony Evading, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed, Possession of Ammunition by a Prohibited Person, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine. In addition to the above charges, Hernandez is being held on a felony warrant. Galceran was booked for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine.
