Citizen Tip Leads to Burglary Arrest, Mountain Ranch
On April 25 at about 00:42 AM, a citizen driving past Senders Market (Mountain Ranch) activated 911 to report a burglary in progress. Deputies were immediately dispatched to the Market, which is both groceries and a hardware store, to begin an investigation. Upon arrival, deputies heard a noise coming from the rear of the business and located a hole cut in the fence leading to the lumber storage area.   After establishing a perimeter, deputies entered and began searching for suspects. While searching, Deputies located David Corsaro, age 34 of Lathrop, and detained him without incident.
The suspect attempted to use a false name during the initial investigation to avoid prosecution which prompted deputies to begin an in-depth investigation into the true identity of the suspect. A records check revealed Suspect Corsaro was on probation out of San Joaquin County and had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest, which had been issued out of the Superior Court of Mariposa County for theft. A search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed stolen wire spools from the business. Suspect David Corsaro was arrested and transported to the Calaveras County Jail.
Suspect Corsaro was charged with 460 (B) PC Burglary (felony), 496 PC Possession of stolen property (felony), 148.9(A)PC giving false identification to a police officer to avoid prosecution, and the out of county warrant (misdemeanor). Suspect Corsaro is being held with a total bail of $25,000.00.
The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the citizen who called 911 to report their observations that eventually led to an arrest for burglary. Their quick thinking and actions presented the deputies the best opportunity to apprehend the suspect and return the stolen property to the rightful owners.
