DATE/TIME: April 27, 2022, at approximately 4:22 a.m.
INCIDENT: VC 2800.2(A) - Felony Evading with Disregard for Safety
LOCATION: J Street and I-40 Freeway, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Jason Tucker, 46 Years Old, Resident of Fort Mohave, AZ
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at approximately 4:22 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle for driving through a red light and crossing over a solid yellow double line, to pass another vehicle. Deputies activated their lights and sirens as they pulled behind the suspect vehicle. The vehicle began driving recklessly and failed to yield to deputies. A pursuit ensued and the suspect vehicle entered the eastbound I-40 Freeway in an attempt to elude deputies. Deputies continued to pursue the suspect vehicle along the freeway until the suspect vehicle exited Hwy 95 south, into Lake Havasu City, Arizona. San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department advised surrounding cities of the suspect vehicle and cancelled the pursuit.
A short time later, La Paz County deputies located the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The suspect led La Paz County deputies on a short pursuit however they were able to apprehend the suspect and take him into custody.
Tucker was charged with VC2800.2(A) - Felony Evading with Disregard for Safety and faces additional charges in Arizona.
