It has recently come to the attention of the Lighthouse Point Police Department that occasional 911 emergency calls for service being made to the Broward County Regional Communications Dispatch and 911 Centers are getting a delayed reply/response, or in some cases, the calls are going unanswered. The explanation given is that Broward County Regional Communications 911 Centers are extremely understaffed. We have been informed that they are working on rectifying the problem, but it could take time to fix due to staffing deficiencies and training needs.
