Traffic Accident Fatality 
On April 27, 2022 at about 12:15 in the afternoon, the Simi Valley Police Department responded to a reported vehicle versus bicyclist traffic accident. Upon their arrival, it was discovered that a commercial flatbed truck and a subject on a bicycle had collided resulting in the death of the bicyclist. The resulting investigation cause Los Angeles Ave at Sycamore Dr. to be closed for approximately 5 hours. The ultimate cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The bicyclist was a 69 year old male from Simi Valley. His name is being withheld until the Ventura County Coroner can notify the next of kin. The driver of the commercial truck was not injured in the collision. There were no signs of impairment with the driver or the bicyclist.

The Ventura County Coroner has notified the next of kin. The deceased bicycle rider was identifed as Stephen Wright 69yrs of Simi Valley.
