Beginning today, Friday April 29 through May 1, the OC Fair & Event Center will be the spot for the 18th Annual OC Marathon Running and Celebrate OC Festival. The Costa Mesa Police Department (CMPD) will be monitoring traffic and road closures for the event. For the safety of the community and the event participants, CMPD reminds everyone to follow traffic sign directions and obey the rules of the road.

OC Marathon route detours, road closures
The SDCCU OC Marathon Running Festival is taking place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 29-May 1.
There will be various closures and detours from the fairgrounds to the Fashion Island area in Newport Beach, including:
- Fairview Road from Fair Drive to Arlington Drive
- Merrimac Way from Harbor Blvd. to Fairview Road
Expect delays and closures on these roads on Saturday between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. (for the 5K) and Sunday between 5 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. (for the half and full marathons).

- Kids Run the OC – Saturday, April 30, 8 a.m.-noon
- Celebrate OC 5K – Saturday, April 30, 5 p.m.(Finish Line Festival is 1-7 p.m.)
- SDCCU OC Marathon start – Sunday, May 1, 5:30 a.m. (Finish Line Festival is 8 a.m.-noon)
- SDCCU OC Half Marathon start -Sunday, May 1, 6:15 a.m. (Finish Line Festival is 8 a.m.-noon)
