We are OPEN! Community Shred Day and Prescription Drug Take-Back on Saturday, April 30th from 9 AM-Noon at 602 NE 96 St.

The Miami Shores Police Department will hold a Community Shred Day and Prescription Drug Take-Back on Saturday, April 30th from 9 AM-Noon at 602 NE 96 St. (Miami Shores Presbyterian Church parking lot.)  Shredding sensitive documents is one way to reduce your risk of becoming an identity theft victim.  This is a drive-up service and all shredding is done on site.  What to shred: up to five boxes of any paper, any color.  No need to remove file folders, staples, paper clips, rubber bands or small binder clips.  What not to shred:  cardboard, hazardous materials, plastics. Plastic bags, or metals.

Got Drugs? Also, April 30, 2022 is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.  The Miami Shores Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) gives residents two opportunities to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.  Bring your medications for disposal to the Miami Shores Police Department from 10 am to 1 pm (9990 NE 2 AVE, MIAMI SHORES, FL, 33138.)  Another collection site is at the Community Shred Day event located at 602 NE 96th St.  Residents can drop off pharmaceutical products and liquids, sealed in their original container. Intra-venous solutions, injectable drugs, and syringes will not be accepted.  The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
