The current weather system approaching our area is forecast to bring a period of thunderstorms with moderate to heavy downpours, occasional to frequent lightning, and potentially damaging winds.  Some storms may be capable of producing hail.  Peak wind gusts may exceed 50 mph, while rainfall amounts may range between 0.5" - 0.8", with locally higher amounts over 1" possible.  A tornado watch remains in effect until 8PM.  These storms are forecast to exit our area by mid to late evening tonight.
