#LASD Norwalk Station Investigating Single Vehicle Fatal Traffic Collision, #LaMirada
Traffic investigators from Norwalk Sheriff’s Station are investigating the circumstances of a double-fatal, single-vehicle traffic collision involving a grey Chrysler 300. The collision occurred on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at approximately 7:50 a.m., at the intersection of Rosecrans Avenue and Beach Boulevard, in the city of La Mirada.
Preliminary information gathered at the scene revealed the Chrysler 300 was traveling eastbound on Rosecrans Avenue at a high rate of speed when its driver lost control and collided into a fire hydrant and utility pole at the Beach Boulevard intersection.
The force of the collision caused the fire hydrant to shear off and the utility pole to topple over. The Chrysler 300’s occupants, an adult male driver and an adult female passenger, were ejected due to the force of the collision. They were pronounced deceased at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics.
The coroner’s office responded to the location to take custody of the remains. Identification of the deceased occupants are pending official family notifications.
Southern California Edison (SCE) repair workers are on scene, restoring the utility pole to service.
It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were factors in the collision.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
Investigators are asking that anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact the Norwalk Sheriff’s Station Traffic Detail at (562) 863-8711.
