Supervisor Barber's Coronavirus (COVID-19) Seven Hundred, Eighty-Sixth Update (Monday, May 2, 2022)

Albany County’s COVID-19 dashboard reported that there were 61 new positive cases overnight in the County, which raised the County’s COVID-19 cumulative pandemic total to 67,007 positive cases.  The County’s seven-day average of new daily positive cases decreased from 182.8 to 162.4 cases.  The number of County residents in the hospital due to COVID-19 symptoms decreased by one to now 34 patients, with two patients in the ICU.  The County’s pandemic death toll remained at 551.
 

State DOH reported that the County’s rate for one vaccine dose as of yesterday was 81.7% of the County’s total population and 89.9% of the adult population, and the County’s rate for full-vaccination was 74.3% of the total population, and for boosters was 71.7% of the eligible population.  The State’s rate for one dose was 90.2% for the total population and 95.0% of adults, and the State’s rate for full-vaccination was 76.9% for the total population, and for boosters was 55.5% of the eligible population.
 
The State’s COVID-19 website reported that yesterday’s results for 69,991 tests Statewide were 5,107 or 6.8% positive, with the seven-day average remaining at 6.8%.  The Capital Region had 3,042 tests of which 343 or 10.5% were positive, with the seven-day average decreasing to 10.6%.  The County had 801 tests of which 78 or 9.4% were positive, with the seven-day average decreasing to 10.0%.
 
State DOH also reported that the State’s positive rate for tests yesterday (6.83%), hospitalizations (1,920, +72), new COVID-19 hospital admissions (287), ICU patients (199, +10), intubations (66, 0), and deaths (9).
 
The Guilderland Police Department, founded in 1972, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.  The first scheduled event is a public gathering on Saturday, June 18 from 11am to 2pm at DiCaprio Park.  There will be a bounce house, gaming truck, food vendors and more.  Please join us in celebrating the department’s 50 years of service, and take the time to meet the dedicated officers who have been entrusted to protect our community.
