Rohnert Park, CA – Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety has joined with Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition to participate in the first ever Countywide “Bike to School Day.” This event was created by the Sonoma County Safe Routes to School Program.

The event will highlight bicycling, but also encourages walking, scootering, skateboarding, etc. to school. Some participating schools will have organized meet-up spots for walking or bicycling, and all schools will be ready to greet students and hand out promotional items when they arrive at school.

In Rohnert Park, John Reed, Richard Crane, and University Elementary at La Fiesta will be participating on May 4th. Monte Vista and Evergreen Elementary will be holding their events on Tuesday, May 3rd. This amazing event promotes safe ways for students to get to and from school. Rohnert Park DPS officers will be out patrolling around the schools to support the event and conduct traffic enforcement for drivers in the area.
