Art in the Park registration opens Thursday, Spring Fling and repaving postponed, Dog license applications available Thursday

Art in the Park registration opens Thursday

The City of Hoboken and Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla are proud to host Art in the Park, a five-week outdoor, creative arts program for children between 1 to 4 years old.

The program includes crafts, story time, music, sing-alongs, and more.

The cost for participants is $45 for five classes (45-minute sessions).

Registration opens Thursday, May 5, at 10 a.m. at www.hobokennj.gov/register. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Elysian Park and Wednesdays in Stevens Park beginning the week of July 12.

Children may only attend the class for which they are registered. Children who miss classes due to vacation or other circumstances, will not be offered a makeup class.

If class is cancelled due to inclement weather conditions, the City will send an email notification regarding a makeup date. Makeup classes will usually take place on Fridays at either Elysian Park or Stevens Park.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Proof of Hoboken residency is required.

Children should be dressed in messy clothing as some materials used may stain clothing.

Spring Fling postponed

Due to predicted rain, Spring Fling, scheduled for May 7, will be postponed until Sunday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Community members still interested in participating in the annual community clean up,  can still register as teams or individuals until May 13.

Repaving cancelled on Wednesday, May 4

Due to predicted rain on Wednesday, May 4, milling and paving operations as part of the Roadway Improvements Project are temporarily suspended until Thursday, May 5. Temporary No Parking Signs posted for milling and paving operations will not be enforced on Wednesday, May 4. All other parking regulations remain in effect.

Enforcement of Temporary No Parking Signs will resume on Thursday, May 5. Access to the municipal garage at 28 Second St. will be restricted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Don’t forget to get your dog a license

Under City law, all dogs in the City of Hoboken must possess a dog license.

Residents can apply for a dog license or license renewal online at www.hobokennj.gov/DogLicenseApplication, starting on Thursday, May 5.

Residents can also submit a license application in person or via mail at to the Hoboken Health Department at 124 Grand St., Hoboken, N.J., 07030, with a check or money order made payable to the City of Hoboken.

A printable application can be found at www.hobokennj.gov/forms under Health and Human Services.

The City will host a free rabies clinic on June 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Multi-Service Center at 124 Grand St.
