Coronavirus (COVID-19) Seven Hundred, Eighty-Seventh Update, Tuesday, May 3, 2022
Albany County’s COVID-19 dashboard reported that there were 228 new positive cases overnight in the County, which raised the County’s COVID-19 cumulative pandemic total to 67,235 positive cases. The County’s seven-day average of new daily positive cases increased from 162.4 to 196.1 cases. The number of County residents in the hospital due to COVID-19 symptoms remained at 34 patients, with one patient in the ICU. The County’s pandemic death toll remained at 551.
The State’s COVID-19 website reported that yesterday’s results for 66,835 tests Statewide were 6,219 or 8.9% positive, with the seven-day average remaining at 6.8%. The Capital Region had 3,835 tests of which 374 or 9.1% were positive, with the seven-day average decreasing to 10.2%. The County had 1,930 tests of which 120 or 5.4% were positive, with the seven-day average remaining at 8.9%.
State DOH also reported that the State’s positive rate for tests yesterday (8.90%), hospitalizations (2,050, +130), new COVID-19 hospital admissions (302), ICU patients (206, +7), intubations (70, +4), and deaths (13).
The Albany Pine Bush Preserve has two upcoming activities this week, including on Friday, May 6 at 10am, an escorted one-mile hike on an easy sandy trail through pitch pine-scrub oak barrens and pitch pines on Madison Avenue Pineland Trail # 7.
