PRESS RELEASE (ARREST)
 
LOCATION OF ARREST:  East Main Street, City of Amsterdam

  1. Burglary 3rd                                                   (D-FELONY)
  2. Grand Larceny 4th                                        (D-FELONY)
  3. Criminal Mischief 4th                                    (A-Misdemeanor)
 
 
ARRAIGNMENT/BAIL STATUS:  Faboskay was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court in front of Honorable Judge Lisa Lorman and was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
 
INCIDENT NARRATIVE:  On October 30th, 2021 at approximately 10:00 A.M. Amsterdam Police were dispatched to the area of Lodge Street for the report of a found motorcycle.  Members of the Amsterdam Police Department Patrol Division responded and quickly were able to determine the motorcycle was stolen and left at the location.  Patrol officers were then able to speak with the owner of the motorcycle in close proximity to where the motorcycle was found.  After speaking with the owner, it was determined the victim’s garage was broken into and a second motorcycle was also stolen.  At that time, patrol officers contacted the Detective Division to respond.  Detectives responded and processed the crime scene and in doing so located forced entry into the garage.  Detectives were also able to collect evidence to assist in the investigation.  A neighborhood canvas was completed and more evidence was collected.  Detectives were able to identify Christopher M. FABOSKAY as a suspect in this case.
 
Once the investigation was completed, Detectives applied for and were granted an Arrest Warrant for FABOSKAY issued by the Honorable Judge Lisa Lorman of Amsterdam City Court on 05/03/2022.  Patrol officers located FABOSKAY a short time later on East Main Street where he was taken into custody without incident.
 
FABOSKAY was processed and arraigned in Amsterdam City Court in front of the Honorable Judge Lisa Lorman where he was remanded to the custody of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail.  
 
 
The Amsterdam Police Department was assisted by the office of the Montgomery County District Attorney Lorraine Diamond in this investigation, the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
 
 
While there was probable cause for this arrest, all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
