Route 27 (St. Georges Ave) southbound right lane shut down for the next few weeks beginning 05/05/2022.

Beginning at 7 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, May 5, NJDOT’s contractor, IEW Construction Group, will relocate construction barrier to shift the Route 27 southbound right lane closure one block from Plainfield Avenue to Orchard Street in Rahway. Plainfield Avenue will be reopened to local traffic and Orchard Street will be closed. The closure is necessary to continue replacing a collapsed drainage pipe. The repair is expected to be completed in a few weeks. The following detour for Orchard Street will be in place: Route 27 to Orchard Street detour: • Motorists on Route 27 southbound wishing to turn right onto Orchard Street will be directed to continue on Route 27 southbound • Turn right at Albermarle Street • Turn right on Jefferson Avenue back to Orchard Avenue.
