Narcotics Uncovered During Motor Vehicle Stop

SUBJECT:  Motor Vehicle Stop Leads to Narcotics Charges

OFFICERS: Officers Dane Richards, Joseph Bones, Ryan Deceglie, and Sergeant Jesse Orbach
                                   
LOCATION: Rt. 35 South near East Mall Drive in Ocean Township   
 
ACCUSED: Shamere J. McClaren 35 year old male of Asbury Park, NJ; Beverly Bell 55 year old female of Asbury Park, NJ   
 
NARRATIVE:   On May 3rd, 2022 at approximately 12:15 am Officer Dane Richards conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 35 South in the area of East Mall Drive for traffic violations.  During his investigation the driver of the vehicle, Shamere J. McClaren, was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.  McClaren was immediately placed under arrest for possession of CDS.  Officers Bones, Deceglie and Sergeant Orbach arrived on location to assist.  A search of the vehicle was conducted and revealed several wax folds containing heroin and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.  The passenger of the vehicle, Beverly Bell, was also placed under arrest.  Both subjects were transported to HQ for processing.
   Shamere J. McClaren was charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was also issued several motor vehicle summonses.  Beverly Bell was charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Buprenorphine Hydrochloride, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  She was also issued two motor vehicle summonses.  They were both released pending an initial court appearance.
