First Fridays

Lawrence Township has launched a promotional event called "First Fridays" in order to draw attention to the amazing products and services of our local businesses! How it works: on the first Friday of every month, participating businesses will offer a unique special or discount to encourage residents to shop close to home. The specific promotion will be promoted on the Lawrence Township Facebook page, and Facebook community groups. Every business in Lawrence Township is welcome to participate! Ban on Plastic Carryout Bags 
On May 4, 2022 NJ’s Ban on Plastic Carryout Bags & Polystyrene Foam in Stores, Grocery Stores & Food Service Businesses will take effect. For more details see the attached.







Second quarter taxes are due in the Tax Collector's Office by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in order to avoid penalty.

Mercer County will begin road work
on Quakerbridge Road
 

from Collins Avenue to Village Road West/Lawrence Square Boulevard on or about May 15, 2022.  The project in anticipated to last for two weeks, weather permitting.  This work will be done during the nighttime hours of 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday through Friday.  Quakerbridge Road will remain open during the project with one-line in each direction at all times.

County to resurface section of Lawrence Station Road
Due to deteriorated pavement surface conditions, Lawrence Station Road (County Route 608) between Quakerbridge Road and the Mercer County Dempster Fire Academy in Lawrence Township is scheduled for milling and resurfacing by the Mercer County Department of Transportation & Infrastructure. Work is expected to begin Wednesday, May 11, with an anticipated completion time of approximately two weeks, weather permitting.
During this project, Lawrence Station Road will be closed to through traffic from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; however, access will be permitted for local residents, and municipal and emergency vehicles. Motorists will be directed to use Youngs Road, Quakerbridge Road and Lawrence Station Road. Please note that local business only will be permitted on Lawrence Station Road between Youngs Road and the Dempster Fire Academy.




P.S.E.&G. Plans Work on Carter Road
in Hopewell and Lawrence


P.S.E.&G. has begun construction work during weekends along Carter Road (County Route 569) from Cherry Valley Road in Hopewell Township to US Route 206 in Lawrence Township. The weekend work is scheduled to continue until the end of June, weather permitting. A detour plan will be in place; all traffic will be alternating with flaggers directing motorists. Construction work will maintain an 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. schedule on Saturdays and Sundays.







Brush Pick-Up By Zone
The week of May 9 is Zone 2 for brush pick up.
Guidelines must be followed for placing brush out for pick-up.

Only those residents in this zone should be placing brush in the roadway.

All commercial landscapers shall be registered annually with the Township of Lawrence by March 31st.






 
 
Bulk Waste Pick-Up

Bulk waste will be picked up on your regular collection day. Bulk waste consists of items to be discarded which are too large to fit into your new cart. Mattresses must be wrapped. The exceptions are "white goods" such as washers, dryers and refrigerators and bulky material too large to fit in the "hopper" of any vehicle used for collection.
