* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following county, Cherokee. Portions of southwest Missouri, including the following counties, Barry, Barton, Dade, Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald and Newton.

* WHEN...Until 800 PM CDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 954 AM CDT, The Department of Transportation reported flooding from previous heavy rain in the advisory area. Residual flooding continues to create impassable conditions on numerous roadways across southwest Missouri and extreme southeast Kansas. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Joplin, Carthage, Neosho, Monett, Aurora, Mount Vernon, Lamar and Baxter Springs. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
