Novato, Calif. – On Friday May 6, 2022, 2 individuals were arrested for DUI. 

The DUI checkpoint was held at De Long Ave and Redwood Blvd. 1141 vehicles came through the checkpoint, with 90 directed to the secondary screening area.

• 2 arrested for DUI
• 34 cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed
• 7 with a suspended/revoked license
• 2 were arrested for outstanding warrants

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
