Stolen Vehicle Arrest 
On 5-7-22 at 1108 hours, Simi Valley Officers located an occupied stolen vehicle in the area of Tapo St. and Township. The driver of the vehicle refused to comply with officer’s directives to exit the vehicle and surrender.
The department’s Bearcat was used to immobilize the vehicle. The Ventura County Sheriff’s helicopter along with Simi Valley Police K9 teams were deployed. After approximately 3hours of negotiations the driver surrendered peacefully.
The driver was identified as Michael Sorenson (DOB 11-22-81). Sorenson was arrested for 10851(a) VC – (Unlawful Taking of a Vehicle) and 148(a)(1) PC -(Delaying a Peace Officer).
