Big Bear Man Arrested After Leading Deputies on a Pursuit from Victorville to Barstow

INCIDENT: Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Evading a Peace Officer, Vehicle Theft, False Imprisonment
LOCATION: Bear Valley Road / Mariposa Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Brett Badger, 34-year-old male resident of Big Bear
SUMMARY: On March 3, 2022, deputies with the Victorville Police Department located a 2019 Kia Sportage, reported stolen out of Big Bear on March 2, 2022.
Deputies attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver, Brett Badger, failed to yield and led deputies on a pursuit from Victorville to Barstow, where Badger struck a parked vehicle, ran inside a business, and barricaded himself inside a public bathroom with one additional occupant still inside. Deputies were able to successfully arrest Badger and rescue the occupant.
Badger was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, evading a Peace Officer, vehicle theft, and false imprisonment.
