State DOH reported that the County’s rate for one vaccine dose as of yesterday was 81.8% of the County’s total population and 91.1% of the adult population, and the County’s rate for full-vaccination was 74.3% of the total population, and for boosters was 72.8% of the eligible population.  The State’s rate for one dose was 90.3% for the total population and 95.0% of adults, and the State’s rate for full-vaccination was 77.0% for the total population, and for boosters was 55.5% of the eligible population.
 
The State’s COVID-19 website reported that yesterday’s results for 91,949 tests Statewide were 6,575 or 6.3% positive, with the seven-day average remaining at 7.0%.  The Capital Region had 2,558 tests of which 384 or 15.3% were positive, with the seven-day average increasing to 12.4%.  The County had 679 tests of which 112 or 16.1% were positive, with the seven-day average increasing to 14.2%.
 
Governor Kathy Hochul, who announced yesterday that she had tested positive for COVID-19, reported today the State’s positive rate for tests yesterday (7.03%), hospitalizations (2,369, +134), new COVID-19 hospital admissions (367), ICU patients (217, +22), intubations (91, +2), and deaths (21).
 
The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive at Town Hall this Friday, May 13 from Noon to 6pm.  Local hospitals continue to warn that the supply of blood is running low and are urging residents to help by making an appointment to donate blood.  Here’s a direct link for appointments at this blood drive.  If you’d like to prepare a month ahead, there will be a special blood drive on Friday, June 10, from 1pm to 6pm at EMS Station 1, 200 Centre Drive in memory of Richard W. O. Beebe, a beloved paramedic and mentor for a generation of paramedic and EMTs serving our community.  Here’s a direct link for this special blood drive.  For donations in June, the Red Cross is offering a voucher redeemable for one prepackaged pint of Stewart's ice cream or gelato at any Stewart's shops.
