Exchange & Short Street Reconstruction

Dear Residents and Business Owners,

Reith Riley will begin the City of East Chicago's Exchange and Short Street Project on Monday, May 23, 2022. During this construction, both streets will be closed to thru traffic. We will begin with the demolition of Short Street followed by storm sewer replacement. After finishing Short Street, we will start on Exchange Avenue with demolition, storm sewer replacement, and water line replacement. While working on Short Street, you can receive shipments on Exchange Avenue.

Then while work is being done on Exchange you can receive shipments on Short.

If you need delivery to your doors on Exchange Avenue, we will provide temporary access. Contact, Josh Miller, at Rieth Riley at 219-208-0684 to arrange these deliveries. Please provide two to three days in advance notice, we will be happy to accommodate you.
