National Police Week is a time to honor law enforcement officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. These officers have lost their lives in the line of duty while protecting others. As the Oakland Police Department commemorates National Police Week, we pay tribute to our 53 fallen heroes and their legacies that are etched into the history of our Department. It is also a time to pay special recognition to our current heroes, who selflessly put their lives on the line every day, in their commitment in keeping the residents, businesses, and visitors of Oakland safe.
