Single Vehicle Injury Crash 
Sheriff Richard J. Behnke, reports that on 05/11/2022 at approximately 2013 hours, his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash near the intersection of Calvin Hill St and Calvin Center Road, Calvin Township, Cass County Michigan.
Initial investigation shows that 23yr old South Bend Indiana Resident, Isaiah Nicks, was traveling west bound on Calvin Hill Street. Nicks lost control of the vehicle, leaving the roadway and striking a power pole to the north. The vehicle overturned while traveling across the roadway and struck a tree to the south. Nicks was transported to South Bend Memorial hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Nicks’ passenger, 22yr old Alexis Taylor, was evaluated on scene by emergency medical personnel but refused any further medical treatment.
Seatbelts were worn by both subjects. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. Assisting agencies include Penn Township Fire, Pride Care EMS, Edwardsburg EMS and the Michigan State Police
