LOCATION: Cambria Drive and Camelot Drive, Yucaipa
SUSPECT(S): Michael Thomas Hiers, 31-year-old resident of Yucaipa
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at approximately 12:13 p.m., Deputy A. Alcala saw Michael Hiers driving a red Ford Ranger. Hiers had an active San Bernardino County warrant for his arrest, for a drug-related offense. Alcala initiated a traffic stop near Cambria Drive and Camelot Drive.
During the investigation, Hiers was found in possession of drug paraphernalia, burglary tools, shotgun ammunition, pepper spray, and stolen property, including a laptop reported stolen on April 30, 2022.
Hiers is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing pepper spray or ammunition. Hiers was arrested and booked at Central Detention Center, where he is being held on $35,000.00 bail.
