DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 11, 2022 / 3:18 P.M.

INCIDENT: Attempted Robbery, Criminal Threats, Burglary, Vandalism

LOCATION: 18600 Block of Valley Boulevard, Unincorporated Bloomington

VICTIM:        Confidential

SUSPECT: Jonathan Barbosa, a 26-year-old male resident of Colton

SUMMARY: On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at about 3:18 P.M., the Bloomington Community deputy was flagged down regarding a robbery that just occurred in the 18600 block of Valley Boulevard, unincorporated Bloomington.

Two male suspects became upset when they couldn’t register a vehicle which was originally stolen from the city of Ontario. The suspects threatened to shoot the victim and attempted to steal a backpack from inside the business. As they left, the suspects broke the windows to several nearby vehicles and ransacked their interiors. Both suspects fled in a grey BMW and the information was provided to surrounding law enforcement agencies.

Around 5:38 P.M., officers from the Fontana Police Department located the initial stolen vehicle near the intersection of 7th Street and Linden Avenue, in the unincorporated area of Bloomington. They detained Jonathan Barbosa, a 26-year-old male resident of Colton. The Bloomington Community deputy responded and identified Barbosa as one of the suspects in the initial robbery on Valley Boulevard. The stolen vehicle was recovered by the Fontana Police Department and returned to its rightful owner. Barbosa was arrested and booked into West Valley Detention Center for several felony charges including attempted robbery, criminal threats, burglary, and felony vandalism.
