Household Hazardous Waste & Document Shredding
This year's Household Hazardous Waste Collection & Document Shredding will take place on Saturday, May 14 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Household Hazardous Waste Collection is your opportunity to dispose of items you can't put with your regular garbage pickup or bulk pickup. Proof of City of Richland Hills residency (driver's license or current utility bill) is required.
Items accepted during Household Hazardous Waste Collection include:
- Paint (limit of five cans)
- Painting supplies
- Automotive fluids and filters
- Cleaners and chemicals
- Hobby chemicals
- Lawn/garden/pool chemicals
- Light bulbs
- Cooking oils
- Batteries
- Ammunition and explosives
- Butane/propane cylinders
- Prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines and medical waste
- Asbestos
- PCBs/radioactive items
- Any commercial, business and industrial waste

Document Shredding will take place in the City Hall parking lot (3200 Diana Drive) from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Most paper documents and files will be accepted for on-site shredding, including paperclips and staples. Phone books, newspapers and magazines will not be accepted.
