Smyth County Sheriff Chip Shuler is advising anyone in need emergency services to call 276-646-3131 or 276-781-3059.
Due to a fiber cut, the Smyth County 911 service is experiencing difficulties. Office lines at the sheriff's office are also down. Shuler said the county is working with its service provider to restore service and will alert citizens when service is restored.
